I used to do balck tea rinses and then got lazy.
I am planning to stretch for 13 weeks this time round but keep the bllack tea rinses, and try moisturising my new growth with S Curl.
Thanks for sharing your story!Yvonne - Diary of Anotha Chichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07049148832165372467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364019274575913806.post-15850264396318378702013-05-30T09:50:44.431-06:002013-05-30T09:50:44.431-06:00Thanks for your kind words KLP! Just wait until you see that retention, length, and those healthy ends! This silly wash day will be done and buried.

Sounds like you already know what you need to do to prevent this in the future. too many proteins and no pre-wash detangling is just a bad mix.

Besitos chica!

www.savingourstrands.blogspot.comKLP @ SavingOurStrandshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16351404032388180656noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364019274575913806.post-72280896133356244462013-05-29T16:46:02.551-06:002013-05-29T16:46:02.551-06:00Thanks Age! I am so sorry sis (*hugs*) but I am sure everything will be okay! Secondly, I've come to realise that shedding can be curbed from the inside too by taking vitamins. Does the detangler contain protein? Too much of protein can create that mess too(:I've had a wash day with protein leave-in causing breakage during the roller set. Doesn't the keratin tea also contain protein? I think you had too much protein going on that's why the hair was matted. You may need to spread the protein use to during and after to achieve the same strengthening effect.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07845267837684978967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2364019274575913806.post-25582100100230693512013-05-28T18:30:20.762-06:002013-05-28T18:30:20.762-06:00Thanks for the tips! My hair is only now recovering. Expect more hair loss when you go to the salon. I have worked it out to be how long I stretched for. I think my max stretch is between 10 and 12 weeks. Past that my hair breaks at the demarkation point and mattes when wet. It is very difficult to detangle and stretches and pops. Next time try reducing the stretch and see if this helps. I have been using wearing a u-part wig with a lace closure as protective styling and removing every 2 weeks to wash and deep condition.
