French Braid Wash Day…

[1]   Scalp massage with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (warmed) for 4 mins. Applied EVCO all
over my hair and sat under my heat cap for 35mins. Have you noticed I have been doing
       scalp massages weekly?
[2]   Deep Conditioned on dry hair with my Queen Helene Cholesterol mixture warmed for
40 mins under my heat cap on top of the oil.
[3]   Rinsed and applied Aphogee 2 mins Reconstructor for 5 mins without heat and rinsed.
My hair is in  French Braid
[4]   Wrapped my hair in a T-shirt for 1 hour and a half while I caught up on the last 2 episodes

of “The Haves and Have Nots” written by Tyler Perry. I really like this show, if you haven’t
seen it yet, go ahead and download it, as it shows on OWN TV – Oprah Winfrey Network.

[5]   Once my hair was 90% dry I sprayed all of my roots with Mane n Tail detangler. Then
applied my leave in conditioner of Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer, Aussie            Moist Conditioner, Herbal Essences Split End Protector and sealed with Extra Virgin
Olive oil.  I didn't have alot of single strands knots this wash day which is a relief.
Detangling was manageable this week with no hassle.

I say under my hooded dryer on low heat this week again for 20 mins because outside looked gloomy and I didn't want to get a cold due to my roots being wet for a long period of time. My roots were dry and my ends dried eventually which was fine.

[6]   I oiled my scalp with Jamaican Black Castor Oil  and Moisturized my hair with Elasta QP
Olive Oil & Mango Butter and sealed with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. The following morning I
placed a part on the side of my hair, sprayed my moisturizing mixture on the hair around
the part, followed with Ampro Pro Styl  Gel, placed my hair in a bun and tied down my                hair for an hour and headed out to church afterwards. I wore my hair in a bun over the
last 2-3 weeks so I decided to rock a French braid this week. It's not the neatest but you
       get the idea.

Head over to Saving Our Strands to share your wash day experience with us and link up while you are there.

  1. Hey Tomi! Your NG looks so soft and moisturized! Reading this post reminds me that I need to invest in a heating cap! Your wash day looks great and I love your french braid. I still have some episodes to catch up on with the Haves and Have Nots, too. I'm in the middle of the latest season still lol.

  2. If that's not a neat french braid then I don't know what is! My french braids always look "tousled"---which is a chic way of say MESSY! Haha!

Thanks for sharing your #washdayexperience chica!
