Co-washing & Protective Styling…

My new growth is crazy thick and I have loads of it even though I’m only 10weeks post. I haven’t cared for my hair like I used to, so I’m not sure what contributed to all of this growth. I’m planning on stretching for 16 weeks and not sure how I’m going to make it because single strands knots always try to take over my hair life at this point in my stretch.

What Happened To My Hair Lately…

I haven’t been doing anything special with my hair for the last couple of weeks but I have been keeping up with my weekly wash-days and treatments.  Due to time constraints, I haven’t been able to wear my hair out which may be beneficial to me in the long run right now.

French Braid Wash Day…

[1]   Scalp massage with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (warmed) for 4 mins. Applied EVCO all

       scalp massages weekly?
[2]   Deep Conditioned on dry hair with my Queen Helene Cholesterol mixture warmed for
40 mins under my heat cap on top of the oil.
[3]   Rinsed and applied Aphogee 2 mins Reconstructor for 5 mins without heat and rinsed.
My hair is in  French Braid
[4]   Wrapped my hair in a T-shirt for 1 hour and a half while I caught up on the last 2 episodes

Protective Hairstyles for Relaxed, Texlaxed & Natural Hair…

What are Protective Styles?

This is wearing your hair up in a style that doesn't put strain on your edges or nape and keep your ends off your shoulders and back. These are styles that protect the ends from rubbing, splitting and being damaged by the elements. Here are a few Hairstyles that I have rocked which help protect our fragile ends with the hope of retaining length. They are all very simple and easy to do.

One Year Hair Anniversary…

Time flies so quickly and I can’t believe I have been on my Healthy Hair Journey for a year now and feeling really blessed to see how well my hair is blossoming. June 2012 was when I started my hair journey, you can check out how and why I started my (Healthy Hair Journey).

My Hair Journey hasn't been a walk in the park but I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far.  I don’t have any regrets but I do wish I started my Hair Journey sooner, better late than never right.

Have a look at how my hair has been over the year so far and looking forward to meeting many more goals in the future. I started off at Full Neck / Shoulder Length and now I’m grazing APL. Over the last year I wore braid-outs (still have to master this), Bantu Knots, Buns, Flexi-Rods, Inside Cornrow/French Braid and Faux Bobs.

NEW VIDEO: How to do a French Braid...

It’s funny how my braid-out looks better here in the video than when I took pics to show you guys on my last (Wash Day Here) ah well...Maame Esi asked me if I had a tutorial on how I did my French braid, so I decided to do one - sorry it’s a week late. I do hope it helps someone to achieve this style.
