What's New In My Hair Product Stash…

I love trying new products but I haven’t done that in a long time.  Upon browsing Sally’s, I noticed there was a sale on various products and since I like the Crème of Nature line I picked up items I have never used before.  My old faithful Queen Helene was slightly cheaper so I purchased 2 of them to stock up.

Relaxer Prep Wash Day…

I’m just about 15weeks post relaxer and I’m ending my stretch this week.  I was planning for 16 weeks but I don’t want the hassle of relaxing my hair over Easter holidays. I just want to relax and spend some time with my family.

Christmas Day Hair: Flexi-Rods…

At 14weeks post relaxer, the only way to blend both textures is doing some form of curls because flat ironing isn't even a question for me . Since I just had a full wash day I opted for a quick co-wash. Don' forget to check out Miss Dre Liebster Award questions here.
[1]   Deep Conditioned with my Queen Helene Cholesterol mixture on dry hair for 20mins
       and rinsed.
[2]   Cleansed my scalp with Aussie Moist Conditioner.
[3]   Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt for 45mins to absorb the excess water.
[4]   Before applying my leave in conditioners I sprayed my hair with Mane n Tail detangler
on my roots. This detangler is no joke, it literally melts my tangles away. Applied my
leave in conditioners of Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer , Aussie Moist
Conditioner, Herbal Essences Split End Protector(on my ends) and Coconut oil to my
hair and detangled again carefully. I had no issues detangling at all.
[5]   I sectioned my hair in 4 (2 at the front & at the back) and used my wide width comb first,
then a smaller comb to make sure there were no knots or tangles before rolling the hair.

I had my moisturizing spray bottle on hand to keep my hair moist before rolling unto the flexi-rods.  I used end wrap papers to secure the ends as the rolled the hair up in a spiral set.
It took me about 1hr & 15mins to install 25 rods. Before getting under my hooded dryer I used my trusted Tresemme Heat Tamer spray and sat under the hooded dryer for 30mins.  Since I was going to the midnight service I let the rest of my hair air dry.

Co-Wash Day @ 12 Weeks Post...

Last weekend wash day went okay but I’m seeing a lot more single strand knots (SKK) as of recently. I used Elasta QP Intense conditioner and it left my hair tangled and less moisturized from my prepoo which was Aussie Moist Conditioner.  This has been the 2nd time that I have used it and I’m not impressed one bit. I’m not ready to throw in the towel yet as you guys know I don’t like wasting money so I’ll try a few more concoctions with it before I give my final verdict.

Today my hair really needed that extra boost of moisture and since I’m on vacation I did a quick co-wash.

How To Make *Miss* Products Work For You…

Don’t you just hate when you spend your hard earned money on a product especially when everyone is raving about it and it doesn't work for you. You can opt to give it away to friends or family if you want, but if you are like me and don’t like wasting money you WILL find a way to make it work for your hair.

Do you remember me whining about the Aussie Moist Shampoo and how my hair hated this stuff (see my review here). Well, even though I diluted it to reduce the harshness, it still didn't work and then a thought came into my head. Since my CON Moisture & Shine Shampoo is so moisturizing why not add abit to the Aussie Moist Shampoo to test it out. This is what I did:

[1]   Get an applicator bottle
[2]   Pour some Aussie Moist Shampoo to point 1 in photo
[3]   Add some CON Moisture & Shine Shampoo to point 2 in photo
[4]   Add Water to point 3 in photo
[5]   Add 5 drops of Peppermint Oil
[6]   Shake very well before use.

I have the best of both worlds right now because my hair gets cleaned and still remains

Wash Day With A Twist…

This weekend’s weather was very gloomy and all I wanted to do was lay in bed all day long lol. Getting in and out the shower twice was definitely a no no for me. Also, I didn’t want to risk washing my hair and it takes forever to air dry and I end up with a cold. Due to the weather I was feeling extremely lazy and didn’t want to go through my usual wash day routine. Here’s what I did:

Product Review: Queen Helene Cholesterol Hair Conditioning Cream...

I have been using this product since the beginning of my Healthy Hair Journey back in June 2012 – my hairdresser has also been using this product on my hair since 2007. This product has been a staple in my regimen and I always make sure I have a backup tub so I don’t run out.
