They say what you put on the inside of your body shows up on the outside and I have been trying out a new food supplement more regularly and my new growth has been growing faster than I expected. No its not vitamins. I’m still testing it out now and will let you know if it proves to produce more new growth for this relaxer stretch.

Wash Day: Relaxer Preparations…
I’m so over this stretch right now. It has been one of my best stretches for growth but also one of my worst for shedding and tangles. I can’t remember when last a comb touched my head because I have been using my fingers very thoroughly. I’m extremely nervous about how my ends are and know I need to trim alittle but I’m not scared about the trimming, just the thinning. I will confess that my regimen hasn't been consistent during the last 16 weeks and the only person to blame is myself. I take full responsibility with my relaxer results which will be up next week.

My New Growth @ 12 Weeks Post…
Waving a big hello to you
guys. I know I haven’t posted in a little while but I’m working on improving
that. I've also been keeping up with all your blogs.
I’ll be honest my stretch
wasn't going so well when I was 8 weeks post relaxer. The single strand knots were
driving me crazy and I was wondering how I would make it to 16 weeks with this
nightmare.
Air drying my hair loosely
simply wasn't going to cut it anymore so I decided to try flexi-rods and I must
say it made my life a lot easier. My new growth was stretched, the number of
single strand knots was reduced, my hair was loose, and so I didn't have to
worry about any tension from my hair being pulled in any direction.

Technique Thursday | How To Keep Your New Growth Moisturized…
Since I stretch my relaxer from 14weeks to 18weeks, at about 10weeks post relaxer my new growth starting popping up and keeping my new growth moisturized is important, to avoid breakage at the line of demarcation (where new growth meets relaxed hair). There are several ways and I’ll share with you the ways I keep my new growth moisturized and happy.

| Different Hair Types |
I am
currently 11 weeks post relaxer and having left some texture on the top half of
my hair, I can see my true hair texture.
Its extremely tight coiled which makes some pretty waves once slicked
down with some gel. I’ll say 4A, Take a look and tell me what you think:

Wash Day @ 10Weeks Post…
I co-washed my hair mid
week last week focusing mainly on moisture and my hair ended up in a loose
braid out .

This weekend I'll focus on
strength by adding protein.
[1] Scalp massage with Extra
Virgin Olive Oil (warmed) for 4 mins. Applied EVOO to the last
3 inches of my
hair.
[2] Deep Conditioned on dry
hair with a mixture of Crème of Nature Intense Conditioning
Treatment, 1 tea
spoon of ORS Mayonnaise, 1 tea spoon of honey, 1 tea spoon of KeraPro
Restorative Conditioning Treatment, under my heat cap for 45mins. While rinsing my

Simple Wash Day…
I have been keeping my
wash days pretty simple recently, let’s dive into it:

dry and I felt my hair needed a thicker oil to quench my strands. When I took my heat cap
off I couldn't find majority of the oil as it had sunk into my strands.

Co-Wash Day @ 12 Weeks Post...
Last weekend wash day went
okay but I’m seeing a lot more single strand knots (SKK) as of recently. I used
Elasta QP Intense conditioner and it left my hair tangled and less moisturized
from my prepoo which was Aussie Moist Conditioner.
This has been the 2nd time that I have used it and I’m not impressed
one bit. I’m not ready to throw in the towel yet as you guys know I don’t like
wasting money so I’ll try a few more concoctions with it before I give my final
verdict.
Today my hair really
needed that extra boost of moisture and since I’m on vacation I did a quick
co-wash.

Relaxer Prep & New Growth @ 14 Weeks Post
Once I’m incorporating protein into my wash day, it means jumping in and out the shower 3 times argh. I'm using protein to strengthen my strands before undergoing the relaxer process, which breaks down the bonds in the hair follicle which makes your tresses straight (from curly or coily to straight). I finger detangled first, then followed up with my width comb and strangely enough I didn't need my Mane n Tail Detangler like the last wash day before my relaxer in June which was a total nightmare
[1] Prepooed with Grapeseed oil and coconut oil with a few drops of peppermint on my scalp
and on the length of my hair for 30mins under my heat cap.

Conditioning Shampoo.
[3] I normally use the Aphogee two step treatment (hard protein treatment)but I ran out and
couldn’t find any at short notice so I used ORS Hair Mayonaise mixed with Extra Virgin
Olive Oil and Coconut oil for 25mins under my heat cap (this is a medium protein
treatment). I prefer to do my protein treatments on clean clarified hair. I don't like the
strong smell of this DC because i can't stand perfume smells. This has always been in
my stash as a back up plan for my Aphogee.

[6] With my hair in 4 sections sprayed Aphogee Keratin Green Tea Reconstructizer and
Herbal Essence Split Ended Protector (my ends only) , Aussie Moist Conditioner and
detangled very carefully. This was the part that really shocked me because I would
normally use my Mane n Tale Detangler at this point but the comb glided through my
new growth.

Protein Wash Day…
Midway during my stretch I like to do a strong protein treatment to strengthen my hair just before my new growth gets out of hand and the line of demarcation (where your new growth meets the relaxed hair). I like to do my strong protein treatment on squeaky clean hair so there's nothing stopping the treatment from penetrating.
[1] Prepooed with Grapeseed oil mixed with a couple drops of peppermint oil on my scalp and
on the length of my hair for 30mins under my heat cap.
[3] Applied (Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment) on my hair and sat under my hooded
dryer for 15mins. My hair was rock solid and I didn't touch my hair to avoid breakage. As I

rinsed, my hair felt stronger but alil stiff so I applied (Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer)
for 2 mins and rinsed. My hair felt normal again but not as soft and moisturized as I
would like.
[4] Followed up with (Aussie Moist Conditioner) for 45mins with heat. So far I love this
conditioner as a co-wash and leave in conditioner and was curious to see how it would
perform under heat. It did not penetrate my strands at all, so I’m sticking to what I know
it works best for my hair.

to my hair and detangled really easy although I’m 8weeks post.
