Aphogee – Protein Wash Day…

I’m currently 8weeks post relaxer but I feel like I’m 10-12weeks post, these coils are seriously business.  I usually do a strong protein treatment every 6-8 weeks and the last time I did one was 1 week post relaxer. Protein wash day also means hopping in and out the shower 3 times *argh*.

[1]   Prepooed with Coconut Oil with a few drops of peppermint on my scalp [did a scalp
massage for 5 mins] and on the length of  my hair for 30mins under my heat cap.

[2]   Shampooed with ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo (to remove build up). I have found that
prepooing with Coconut Oil before using this Shampoo doesn't leave my hair stripped,

Wash Day Post Relaxer…

After relaxing my hair I like to do a protein treatment one week after but not later than two weeks after to add some strength back into my strands.

[1]   Prepooed with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil on my scalp and on the length of my hair.
[2]   Shampooed with ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo.
[3]   Applied Aphogee Two Step Protein treatment and sat under my hooded dryer for 15mins
till my hair was rock solid. Please Note do not comb or brush your hair after using
this treatment prior to rinsing it out as your hair will break due to the stiffness.
[4]   Appllied Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer for 2mins and rinsed.
[5]   Followed up with Neutrogena Triple Moisture Hair Mask for 35mins.
[6]   Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt for 30mins to absorb the excess water.
[7]   Applied Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer , Herbal Essences Split-End
Protector (on my ends), Aussie Moist Conditioner & Hot Six Oil.

Fully wrapped my hair damp and sat under my hooded dryer for 30 mins and allowed the rest of my hair to airdry.

I was looking forward to wearing my hair straight for another week that’s why I wrapped it but

Relaxer Prep & New Growth @ 14 Weeks Post

Once I’m incorporating protein into my wash day, it means jumping in and out the shower 3 times argh. I'm using protein to strengthen my strands before undergoing the relaxer process, which breaks down the bonds in the hair follicle which makes your tresses straight (from curly or coily to straight).  I finger detangled first, then followed up with my width comb and strangely enough I didn't need my Mane n Tail Detangler like the last wash day before my relaxer in June which was a total nightmare

[1  Prepooed with Grapeseed oil and coconut oil with a few drops of peppermint on my scalp
and on the length of my hair for 30mins under my heat cap.
[2  Shampooed with ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo (remove build up) & Elasta QP Crème
       Conditioning Shampoo.
[3]   I normally use the Aphogee two step treatment (hard protein treatment)but I ran out and
couldn’t find any at short notice so I used ORS Hair Mayonaise mixed with Extra Virgin
Olive Oil and Coconut oil for 25mins under my heat cap (this is a medium protein
treatment). I prefer to do my protein treatments on clean clarified hair. I don't like the
strong smell of this DC because i can't stand perfume smells. This has always been in
my stash as a back up plan for my Aphogee.
[4]  Deep Conditioned with Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask for 45mins
       with heat.
[5  Rinse and wrap my hair in a t-shirt for 1 hour
[6]   With my hair in 4 sections sprayed Aphogee Keratin Green Tea Reconstructizer and
Herbal Essence Split Ended Protector (my ends only) , Aussie Moist Conditioner and
detangled very carefully. This was the part that really shocked me because I would
normally use my Mane n Tale Detangler at this point but the comb glided through my
       new growth.

Flexi-Rods @ 12 Weeks Post

Today’s wash day is filled with loads of moisture and peppermint, such a great wash day with no issues *sigh of relief @ 12 weeks post*

[1]   Prepooed with coconut oil on my scalp and Aussie Moist Conditioner mixed with Extra
Virgin Olive Oil and Coconut oil with a few drops of peppermint on the length of my hair
for 30mins under my heat cap.
[2]   Shampooed with Elasta QP Creme Conditioning Shampoo.
[3]   Poured my black tea rinse mixed with a hint of peppermint oil from my roots to my ends
for 5 mins, then applied Aussie Moist Conditioner over that for 2 mins and rinsed. My hair
felt sooooooooooooo good at this point, very soft and moisturized which made me
contemplate skipping my DC but I really wanted to try out this new Deep Conditioner and
old habits are hard to die.
[4]   Deep Conditioned with Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask for 45 mins
under my heat cap.  This DC lives up to its words, my hair felt like butter and so
moisturized, really liking this so far.
[5]   Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt for 1hr to absorb the excess water.
[6]   Applied Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer , Aussie Moist Conditioner,
Herbal Essences Split End Protector (on my ends) and Hot Six Oil to my hair and
       detangled carefully.

I sectioned my hair in 4 (2 at the front & at the back) and used my wide width comb first then a smaller comb to make sure there were no knots or tangles before rolling the hair.

I had my moisturizing spray bottle on hand for when my hair starts to get dry before I was ready to roll them.

I fell in love with the Aussie Moist Conditioner (review here) and decided to stock up on it since I haven’t seen it here in Barbados. Due to how awesome the conditioner was I decided to get my mom pick up the Aussie Moist Shampoo as well. Now this shampoo has sulfates but I’m hoping the shampoo is just as great as the conditioner. I used the shampoo for the first time last weekend and my first impression is, ummm it's alil stripping on my hair but I’ll use it more first before I give a full review.
