Relaxer Day Results & I CUT 3 Inches off…

The night before my relaxer, I parted my hair in 4 sections and sprayed my new growth with the Mane n Tail detangler, then combed with my wide width comb followed by smaller teeth comb to make sure all my coils were combed out properly so it’s easier when the relaxer is applied. Then I applied Vaseline on my scalp.  It took me 1 hour & 30mins to carefully detangle.

The morning of my relaxer I applied Extra Virgin Olive Oil on my ends first followed by Roux Porosity Control Corrector Conditioner on my ends to protect it from relaxer run off.

My relaxer process was exactly the same as the June relaxer day results seen (here) (same process and products used) except the total time of application and smoothing took 12mins. As usual, my hair was fully wrapped and I left the salon with my hair the same way after sitting under the dryer for 1hr & 15mins and my hair was still damp at the top.  The back of my hair came out bone straight but the top has alil texture to it. I got one burn and suffered some breakage during the relaxer process.

A couple hours later I took down the wrap and I realized that my nape doesn't grow not nearly

as fast my crown area. In addition I have been contemplating if to cut my patch (here) to meet the rest of my hair and today results prompted me to do so.  Looking at my ponytail my hair looks great but combed down is pretty awful so I decided to cut 3 inches off to make everything even. Also trimmed 1 inch around my face and I’m so HAPPY with my results right now.  I’m no longer grazing APL but full shoulder length and loving the state of my hair.  It makes no sense holding on to straggly ends, definitely health over length.  I wasn't upset or sad, I was looking forward to the cut with my mind at ease which is strange. If this stretch goes well I may be back at APL in December.

  3. Your hair looks great, you did a great job with the trim please share how you did it, which method you used. I never get my hemline like that after a self trim.

The last time I trimmed my hair was about three weeks ago, I tried to hold back since my aim was to have a professional do it at the end of the year but I couldn't lol one day I just held sections and took off a little less than 2 inches all over.

    1. I wanted a professional trim as well but I just couldn't wait any longer for my hair to dry. Actually I didn't self trim, but attempted to. I got my other half (Kevin) to trim it for me and he was nervous and didn't want to incase he trimmed too much. Here is a link that may help with self trimming http://feyeselftrim.livejournal.com/

  4. Your hair looks great and so healthy! I was going to ask how you did your trim as well. I'm aiming to start self trimming soon so I'll be checking out that website.

  6. Woaahh, your hair looks super silky! <3 Have you ever tried adding oil to your relaxer? I'm thinking of adding just a small bit; I've read reports that a small amount makes hair really conditioned and soft after relaxing.

    1. Thanks Aisha! BY adding oil is to slow down the relaxing process especially if you want texlaxed results, I just let my hairdresser do her thing.
