Food | Drinks | Great Convos + Laughter = Girls Night Out

“It’s nice to have friends that know all about you and still love you anyway”
“To have a friend and be a friend is what makes life worthwhile”

It’s so relaxing and refreshing to hang out with your girlies to chit chat about everything in life whether you are the topic or otherwise it’s always a fantastic time. These girls crack me up all the time and definitely never a dull moment with them.

Date night with my girls almost didn't happen because all the places to eat were all booked up and we forgot to make a reservation. We drove around to two main eating places and ended up at TGI Fridays. Thank goodness they had some available tables and we were seated within 5mins.

In a blink of an eye our waiter came over and introduced herself and we placed our orders. She was very friendly and made us feel comfortable while we waited for our food.  Charlia had a Southwest Burger with regular potato fries, Nicole had a Jack Daniel Burger with sweet potato fries and I had a Cheese Burger with sweet potato fries *yumyum*and of course the drink of the night was Mudslides.  This has been the best mudslide I have ever tasted in my life, kudos to the bar tender for making such amazing drinks.

Cheers to making great memories and good friendships. Here are a few pics of how our night went:

Flexi-Rods @ 12 Weeks Post

Today’s wash day is filled with loads of moisture and peppermint, such a great wash day with no issues *sigh of relief @ 12 weeks post*

[1]   Prepooed with coconut oil on my scalp and Aussie Moist Conditioner mixed with Extra
Virgin Olive Oil and Coconut oil with a few drops of peppermint on the length of my hair
for 30mins under my heat cap.
[2]   Shampooed with Elasta QP Creme Conditioning Shampoo.
[3]   Poured my black tea rinse mixed with a hint of peppermint oil from my roots to my ends
for 5 mins, then applied Aussie Moist Conditioner over that for 2 mins and rinsed. My hair
felt sooooooooooooo good at this point, very soft and moisturized which made me
contemplate skipping my DC but I really wanted to try out this new Deep Conditioner and
old habits are hard to die.
[4]   Deep Conditioned with Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask for 45 mins
under my heat cap.  This DC lives up to its words, my hair felt like butter and so
moisturized, really liking this so far.
[5]   Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt for 1hr to absorb the excess water.
[6]   Applied Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer , Aussie Moist Conditioner,
Herbal Essences Split End Protector (on my ends) and Hot Six Oil to my hair and
       detangled carefully.

I sectioned my hair in 4 (2 at the front & at the back) and used my wide width comb first then a smaller comb to make sure there were no knots or tangles before rolling the hair.

I had my moisturizing spray bottle on hand for when my hair starts to get dry before I was ready to roll them.

I fell in love with the Aussie Moist Conditioner (review here) and decided to stock up on it since I haven’t seen it here in Barbados. Due to how awesome the conditioner was I decided to get my mom pick up the Aussie Moist Shampoo as well. Now this shampoo has sulfates but I’m hoping the shampoo is just as great as the conditioner. I used the shampoo for the first time last weekend and my first impression is, ummm it's alil stripping on my hair but I’ll use it more first before I give a full review.

NEW VIDEO: My One Year Healthy Hair Journey & Relaxer Results Demo

Let me apologize for how late this video took me to get it up and running.  I’m just taking you down memory lane of how my journey has been over the last year. I’m also showing the entire relaxer day process from my June 2013 relaxer when I was in the salon from my all time favorite hairdresser. Her information is in the video for those of you in Barbados that want to find an alternative hairdresser.

I hope you enjoyed the video.

Wash Day With A Twist…

This weekend’s weather was very gloomy and all I wanted to do was lay in bed all day long lol. Getting in and out the shower twice was definitely a no no for me. Also, I didn’t want to risk washing my hair and it takes forever to air dry and I end up with a cold. Due to the weather I was feeling extremely lazy and didn’t want to go through my usual wash day routine. Here’s what I did:

[1]   Deep Conditioned on damp hair with my Queen Helene mixture (review here) for 45mins
using the DIY Steaming method that Age over at Loving My Hair  blogged about. This is
a great method for those of you who want to experience steaming your hair but not owning

Protein Wash Day…

Midway during my stretch I like to do a strong protein treatment to strengthen my hair just before my new growth gets out of hand and the line of demarcation (where your new growth meets the relaxed hair). I like to do my strong protein treatment on squeaky clean hair so there's nothing stopping the treatment from penetrating.

[1]   Prepooed with Grapeseed oil mixed with a couple drops of peppermint oil on my scalp and
on the length of my hair for 30mins under my heat cap.
[2]   Shampooed with (ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo), followed by (Elasta QP Creme
       Conditioning) Shampoo.
[3  Applied (Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment) on my hair and sat under my hooded
dryer for 15mins. My hair was rock solid and I didn't touch my hair to avoid breakage. As I
rinsed,  my hair felt stronger but alil stiff so I applied (Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer)
for 2 mins and rinsed. My hair felt normal again but not as soft and moisturized as I
       would like.
[4]   Followed up with (Aussie Moist Conditioner) for 45mins with heat. So far I love this
conditioner as a co-wash and leave in conditioner and was curious to see how it would
perform under heat. It did not penetrate my strands at all, so I’m sticking to what I know
it works best for my hair.
[5]   Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt for 40mins to absorb the excess water.
[6  Applied (Herbal Essences Split-End Protector), Aussie Moist Conditioner and Hot Six Oil
to my hair and detangled really easy although I’m 8weeks post.

[7]   Let my hair air dry for 2 hours, then applied (Jamaican Black Castor Oil) on my scalp and
