Wash Day: Flexi-Rods @ 14 Weeks Post…

I can’t believe how time flies that I’m already 14weeks post, which means 4 more weeks to go before I self relax again.  There is a popular show been held every year in Barbados for the Reggae festival but I decided to attend Reggae on the hill for the first time even though it has been happening for the last 10years. I am a Jahcure fan and since the line up for the show looked promising and Jahcure was performing I decided to go. Here how I planned to wear my hair for this event which I will rock for the balance of the week:
Why does my hair look natural - Flexi-Rods

[1]   Applied Mane n Tail detangler to my roots and detangled carefully.
[2]   Applied Extra Virgin Olive Oil on the length of my hair, and sat under my heat cap for
       25mins.
[3]   Deep conditioned on dry hair on-top of the oil added with my Queen Helene Cholesterol
mixture for 30mins under my heat cap. I am in love with this concoction because my hair
feels so soft, silky and moisturized while rinsing out the product.
[4]   Applied Aphogee 2 mins reconstructor for 2mins and rinsed.
[5]   Co-wash with Tresemme Vitamin E Moisture Rich Conditioner and let it sit on my
hair for 2 mins and rinsed.
[6]   Wrapped my hair in a Tshirt for 30mins to absorb the excess water.
[7]   Applied my leave in’s of Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer, Aussie Moist
Conditioner, Herbal Essences Split End Protector and sealed with Hot Six oil.  Since I was
going out the following day, I put my hair in 16 Flexi-rods and I twisted it in an upward
motion as seen above using end wrap papers.
[8]   I sat under my hooded dryer for 20mins so my roots were dry and let the rest of my hair
       airdry overnight
To separate the curls I added some Extra Virgin Olive Oil in my palms rubbed together

As you can see these curls are tight and not dropping anytime soon so I’m stuck at Neck Length for the time being. I was able to manipulate the curls so it falls in a spiral notion. Also my hair isn’t rubbing on my shoulders and the curls will last much longer. I confess that I don’t let a hair style stop me from sleeping pass 2 days so the curls flatten by day 4 which was fine by me because I pulled the curls together in a Mohawk [not pictured]

The reggae event was very well attended as the news reported 17,000 patrons were in attendance. Overall the show was really good, and the vibes were nice. Will I return, most definitely. Beres Hammond and Jahcure were the highlight of my night. Take a look at my makeup below, I forgot to capture my outfit.

  2. Loving your flexi-rod set results. I haven't tried flexi rods on wet/damp hair but after seeing your results I will definitely be giving this a try. I think I'll wear a banana clip my curls to get that Mohawk look. Would love to see a picture of your Mohawk style next time you do it.

  11. I love your results! And that you got those curls without using the flex-rods straight up and down (which takes me forever). Might have to try your technique.
