My Best Flat Twist Out On Relaxed Hair…

Singing “It’s the most wonderful time of the year”. Christmas is such a special occasion to be spent with family and friends and also to give back to the less fortunate and don’t ever forget Jesus is the reason for the season.

We decided to take professional photos and I couldn't decide how to style my hair and I got a light bulb moment so I attempted a flat twist out on my relaxed hair.  After my failed attempt and was extremely pleased with the results this time.

I carried out my usual wash day and to secure my flat twist I used Aloe Vera gel and Crème of Nature foaming mouse to help define my twist out. I started on the left hand side of my head and realized the twist were secured almost perfectly. The back were not as defined or secured but I made it work. My ends were secured with perm rods.

I sat under the dryer for 30mins and can you believe my hair wasn’t dry after 4 hours. I think this is the worst nightmare of a blogger when you are ready to unravel your hair and its still damp. I was annoyed but I needed to make it work.

To unravel my hair,I added coconut oil to my palms to separate the twists.  I absolute love how the top and side of my hair turned out. Ummmm the back isn't as desirable. The simple trick I learnt was to twist the hair forward so the hair falls on the side of your face which creates tons of volume.

Side Note: Today is my 2 year wedding anniversary (throws confetti)  and I’m sorry for my long hiatus. How have you been?

Have you tried flat twist out yet?

  4. Four hours is a long time, but damp is better than over drying the hair. You did a good job. I love it!
