I’m currently 8weeks post
relaxer but I feel like I’m 10-12weeks post, these coils are seriously
business. I usually do a strong protein
treatment every 6-8 weeks and the last time I did one was 1 week post relaxer. Protein wash day also means hopping in and out the shower 3 times *argh*.
[1] Prepooed with Coconut Oil
with a few drops of peppermint on my scalp [did a scalp
massage for 5 mins] and on the length of my hair for 30mins under my heat cap.

compared to using
conditioners or other oils.
[3] Applied Aphogee Two Step Treatment for 15mins under my hooded dryer, by that time
my hair was rock solid. Please
refrain from combing, touching or brushing your hair prior
to washing out this
product because your hair will break off. Rinsed and Applied
Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer for 2 mins and rinsed. My hair wasn't as moisturized as
I liked so I followed up with a DC.

30mins with heat.
[5] Rinse and wrap my hair in
a t-shirt for 1 hour.
[6] With my hair in 4 sections
applied Aphogee Keratin Green Tea Reconstructizer and
Herbal Essences Split End Protector (my ends) and Aussie Moist Conditioner and
detangled very
carefully. Detangling was not a breeze at all, my coils are extremely tight
and
really kicking it up.
[7] Air-dry and apply Jamaican Black Castor Oil on
my scalp and moisturize with
Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter and seal
with Hot Six oil.
My hair feels
so much stronger, Aphogee is the business! I did a French/Inside Cornrow braid
last week so I’ll be in a bun this week.

I like Nexxus Emergencee/Aloxxi. That stuff took me through my transition. I've tried Aphogee but it just doesn't feel right on my hair. I'm in need of a protein treatment right now though.
ReplyDeleteI've heard great reviews on the Nexxus, I'll definitely check it out.
DeleteAphogee is a great conditioner. when i had a perm I used it all the time. I haven't used it in a while. I am going to try the coconut oil before shampooing, that sounds like a great idea and my hair is always dry.
ReplyDeleteCoconut Oil is one of the BEST oils to prepoo with.
DeleteI'm curious about the Herbal Essences Split end protector. I'm about 10 weeks post relaxer and my ends are a mess but it's all my fault. I may need to try the Aphogee conditioner.
ReplyDeleteI have a review on it Sheri, check it out. Aphogee is such a life saver but the smell isn't the best.
DeleteThat aphogee balancing moisturiser does nothing for me, its the only aphogee product that I've tried to date that I hate
ReplyDeleteI haven't used it on its own but it does help add back some moisture after the 2 Step Protein treatment and that's the only time I've use it.
DeleteYes Coconut Oil is the only option for me for prepoo. I believe in that oil!
ReplyDeleteI find the balancing moisturiser does it's job for me. However, I give an extra lather with Aphogee Deep Moisture Shampoo, just to be safe (I'm super paranoid about my hair).
I've been reading great reviews about this Neutrogena Triple Moisture but like you said such a small tub. We wash our hair too often to invest in that small tub. Come on Neutrogena.... give a little. Thanks.
I used ORS Hair Mayonnaise two washes ago (the most recent was my strong protein so Aphogee Two Step was used). I love love love the scent of the ORS HM. I felt satisfied with it's work on my hair because it moisturised as well, def a thumbs up.
