I had a photo shoot this
weekend and wondered how to style my hair. I wanted to flat iron my hair but
with time restraint and since I have never flat iron my hair before I didn't want to rush anything and end up with regrets. What else can blend my new
growth and still look cute, say it with me Flexi-Rods lol.
Flexi-Rods |
product once I’m passed 10weeks post prior to washing my hair, but not during the week
or post wash day. According to my bestie this is a girl’s hair bestfriend.
[2] Scalp massage with Extra
Virgin Coconut Oil with a couple drops of peppermint oil
(warmed) for 1min.
[3] Deep Conditioned with my Queen Helene Cholesterol mixture on dry hair for 45 mins
under my heat cap and
rinsed.
[4] Co-washed with Aussie Moist Conditioner.
[5] Wrapped my hair in a T-shirt
for 15mins. Applied my leave in conditioner’s of Aussie
Moist Conditioner,
Herbal Essences Split End Protector and sealed with coconut oil.
I watched Jay over from Relaxed Thairapy video on the many ways to set your flexi-rods which yield
different results. I really loved the beach wave’s results and opted to try
that this week.
I used my blue and grey
rods for this flexi-rod set. I used a total of 12 flexi-rods to achieve this
look. I always use end wrap papers to secure my ends.
I went under my hooded
dryer for one hour. I went to get ready
and in another hour, when I unravelled the rods my ends were damp *screams*. I didn't want to ruffle the curls too much to look like a disaster, so I made the
best of what I could. Trust me the back wasn't the cutest but the front came
out ok.
Photo Shoot Session - Almost perfect natural lighting |
The following day I
decided to use my moisturizing spray on the last 2 inches of my ends and roll
my hair on blue flexi rods. I used 5 rods in total.
The following morning I applied
Coconut Oil to separate the curls. Can you believe my ends were not completely
dry *sigh*. Here are the results:
Flexi-Rod Results |
The amount of frizz my
curls ended up with by the end of the day was just ridiculous. I think I prefer to have curls on my ends as opposed to my entire head. Take a look at
my hair at the end of the day.

DeleteYes ur curls are really cute, and I love ur photo shoot pics :) I also used the detangler but only once to detangle my flexi rods curls too, and it did a really good job, cant wait to use it again.

ReplyDeleteThanks Lesley!
DeleteThe curls look really pretty on both days!! What was up with those ends that wouldn't dry? LOL. I am definitely interested in trying the flexi rods. I hate using heat tools on my hair and have been washing my hair more on my own since I work out so this is something I should try....if only I'd take the time to do it!
ReplyDeleteHow long are the rods you use?
DeleteI normally use the 7" ones but they also come in 10". Give it a try!
DeleteI love your curls. Do you think the rolling technique is a hit or miss? Thank you for the shoutout!
ReplyDeleteSince my ends weren't dry its hard to tell. I'll give it another try
DeleteK :-)
