I setup my tripod to take
photos with my camera using the 10-second timing setting. After reaching over a table, to keep on pressing the button to take the photos I realized all of them
were in black and white, what a bummer I said, because I had to do it all over
in colour. Instead of deleting them I thought to share with you guys.
I followed up with Extra
Virgin Olive Oil on my strands, then Roux Correction Conditioner on the length
of my hair. This is done to protect my already relaxed hair from over processing. I also decided to add 3
table spoons of EVOO to attempt to weaken the relaxer which was ORS Lye Creme Relaxer in
Normal strength and buy myself some more time to finish my entire head.
[1] I started at the top right
hand corner and worked myself around my entire head in 18 mins. This timing was
a lot better than last time when I took 27mins. I experienced a burning
sensation on the right hand side and I sprayed ORS hair spray to ease the
burning. I
spent 14mins for application and 4 mins smoothing out the relaxer
with my fingers.
I didn't want my hair bone straight so I didn't use a comb to smoothed out the hair.
[2] I hopped into the shower
and rinsed my hair thoroughly.
[3] Applied Aphogee 2 min
reconstructor for 3 mins and rinsed to add back some strength.
[4] Shampooed with Motions Neutralizing Shampoo twice and rinsed.
[5] Applied ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo
and let it sit for 2 mins and rinsed. When I got out
the shower I realized I
retained some texture as seen below. Also the left front section
there was an
area I couldn't get to smooth out so my curl pattern is evident which is under
processed.
Freshly Relaxed Hair |
for 30mins under my heat cap.
[7] Rinsed and wrapped my hair
in a T-shirt for 10mins.
[8] Applied my leave in
conditioners of Aphogee Keratin Green tea Restructurizer, Aussie
Moist
Conditioner, Herbal Essences Split End Protector and sealed with Extra Virgin
Olive Oil.
Wrapped My Freshly Relaxed Hair |
I wrapped my hair and
sprayed my hair with Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray and sat under my hooded dryer
for 30mins. The heat was abit much for me, so I let the rest airdry.
Once my hair was dry I
combed down my hair to see what progress I had made. I chose to wrap my hair for a straight look
rather than flat iron because I still don’t own a flat iron and it’s the only
way to achieve a straight look. Since the left hand section of my hair (about
3x3inches) wasn't processed it was difficult to get a decent length check. I
found it really hard to get an overall good length check because the top of my
hair was poofy and has some texture. I had to rely on my tripod and it was tedious. Times like this I miss my fiance who would really help me out here. I’ll show you what I was able to attain and I
did trim ½ inch all around.
Partial Length Check |
Overall I'm happy with my
results, I can certainly feel the thickness and bonus length is even better. Even though I felt a burning sensation during the process I have no
burns. I’ll invest in a flat iron so I
can show you guys a proper length check but it looks like I'm full APL now.

Love the texture you have left! Great relaxer day, you are becoming a pro at the self relaxer!! Amazing results, your hair looks thick and long! I also usually do a 1/2 inch trim/dust every relaxer day, but your ends look great! How did you like the sectioning your hair in and twist up each section? I used the same technique due my last relaxer, I LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteYou did so well with relaxing your hair and your wrapping technique is lovely. Your hair has grown so much and looks beautiful, xxx
