My Birthday Celebrations…

I have entered into a new decade of my life and I’m entirely grateful to God for allowing me to reach this milestone and be able to celebrate it with good health, awesome family, wonderful friends and my Fiancé. Last year Kevin left Barbados to study for a year in England and I told him not to do anything since he was travelling the following day. I’m not an overly fussy person but I do appreciate the little things in life. So for the BIG 30, I also told Kevin not to overdo as our wedding is around the corner and we should be focused on that.  If there is one thing I can say about Kevin, is that he listens and very carefully too. This is a quality that I truly admire from him.  All I asked for was a cake, I really did need anything else but a cake.

30's Birthday Celebrations

I got a message telling me to get ready for 6:20-6:30pm. I usually get home from work at 5:00-5:15pm so I knew I just needed to relax for 5 mins and off to the shower to get ready.  I was ready at 6:35, when Kevin called and said he was running late. He arrived at 7:15 and I wasn’t upset but extremely hot because I had closed the entire house so I could leave when he arrives. As usual we don’t tell each other the destination until we arrive.  We pulled into Daphne’s Restaurant and immediately my car door was opened and they offered valet parking.  Since it was during the week the restaurant wasn't packed but felt really cozy and romantic.

The waiter was extremely nice and I must say their customer service was on-point and deserves 5 stars. I’ll definitely recommend this restaurant hands down.

We both chose the same starter which was “Bacon-Infused Sweet Potato Ravioli with Black-Belly Lamb Ragout”. This picture doesn't do this meal justice but it was delicious and very filling.

My main course choice was “Pork Chop Milanese with Pickled Green Banana and Pumpkin” while Kevin had the “Grilled Rib Eye Steak, Sweet Potato Chips, Fried Beet Shoestrings and Chipotle Dip”. We both had wine which was Zinfandel but I can’t remember the name right now.

The amount of food I received was so much and I was actually shocked. I was only able to eat half of it because I was stuffed. Our mains were prepared perfected. We had no complaints what so ever with anything at Daphne's.

We asked for the bill and to my surprise the staff presented me with a card signed by all its staff as well as desert with my name on the plate.  The mini chocolates were delicious and the brownie was rich and very tasty.

During the day Kevin had messaged me to say the car needed to be home by 10:00pm because a test needed to be run on it, the following day and it needed to be rested for 12hrs. I was abit bummed out because when we go out we stay out and talk for hours. Little did I know that Kevin had planned a last minute surprise lime with my friends. The surprise almost didn't happen as I was adamant with not getting out of the car because the car needed to be home resting.  I caved and it was nice to see my friends come out to share in this milestone. Don’t worry if you couldn't make it, or if Kevin didn't get to contact you, we can celebrate later.

When Kevin came to pick me up he got out of the car with a box and I was so excited because I finally got my cake.  The following day I got to cut it and sample it.  Flindt doesn't disappoint when it comes to quality and taste.

 If this is what 30 looks like even though I feel like 25 lol, I’m certainly enjoying the new phase in my life.  I’m looking forward to many more years filled with love, fun, happiness, good health, marital bliss, great friendship with God guiding me through it all Cheers to making great memories to last a lifetime. #Dirty30 #30sclub #lifebeginsnow
