Long Lost Wash Days…

I haven’t been keeping track of how many weeks post relaxer I am. Just realizing my new growth is popping and need to check my blog to see when my last relaxer was. I even started washing my hair every 2 weeks but stopped very quickly because my face wasn't enjoying that torture. I have been getting breakouts which aren't normal for me and I know that’s the culprit. Let’s get this wash-day started:
Heat Free Flexi-Rod Curls
[1]   Finger detangle has been a must for me recently. Sometimes I don’t even need to follow
up with a wide width comb. Once done right post detangling is a breeze.
[2]   Deep Conditioned on dry hair with ORS Replenishing Pak for 1 hour under my heat cap.
I wasn't planning to be that long but I bought a new heat cap called Gold N Hot and
it doesn't get that hot. I’m seriously contemplating returning it and getting something else.
Oh how I miss my old heat cap now.
[3]   Shampooed with Creme of Nature Moisturize & Shine Shampoo and rinsed.
[4]   Applied Aussie Moist Conditioner for 2 mins and rinsed
[5]   Wrapped my hair in a T-shirt for 1hour
[6]   My leave in conditioner’s were Elasta QP Leave in H2, Aussie Moist Conditioner and
sealed with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil.
After wearing my hair straight for so many weeks I decided to put in some blue flexi-rods and I used 7 rods in total. I’m sorry I forgot to take a picture but I rolled them up instead of in a spiral motion. My hair was 95% dry so I just damped not wet the last 4 inches of my hair and rodded them.
The following day I applied Jamaican Black Castor Oil on my scalp. I pulled apart the curls with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil in my palms.

The curls weren't fantastic but it worked for me while heading out to church. I didn't have any wrapping lotion or my cocktail mix but it still came out fine. 6 hours later the curls had fallen exactly how I like my curls to be as seen below. I prefer to have curls on the ends of my hair than my whole head. I probably need more patience.

When last did you put in flexi-rods in your hair?

  1. I swear I have never seen you do a bad flexi-rod set. Your hair always looks so healthy, thick, bouncy and curly. Mine has never come out that good.

  8. Hi. Question... Does anyone experience breakage from flexi rods? I usually use them just to add some curls on dry hair (I've never done a wet set) but I always notice short broken pieces on the floor when I take them down. I don't think they are too tight and I always use end papers. Any suggestions?

    1. I don't think I've experienced breakage using them. Sometimes if you aren't careful taking them down, your hair can get caught in the 'white end' of the flexi-rod which may tug and cause breakage.
