On Friday while at work I noticed my hair looked dull in the mirror so I knew my hair had a lot of build-up and it was time to restore the shine.
This is how I approached my wash day (Link to Product):
1) Prepoo with EVCO & EVOO on my scalp and on the length of my hair for 30 mins
under my heat cap
2) Shampoo with ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo [one lather]. This Shampoo makes my
hair squeaky clean but this time around it felt a little dry
3) Shampoo with CON Moisture & Shine Shampoo [one lather]. I love how
this Shampoo instantly moisturized my hair but it still felt *blah*
4) Apply ApHogee 2 Min Keratin Reconstructor on my hair for 3 mins without heat.
Normally when I wash this out my hair is instantly soft and silky but this wasn’t the
case today and I was really surprised and confused
5) I used my Queen Helene for the past two wash days but decided to apply
) KeraPRO Restorative Intensive Conditioning Treatment to my hair for 35 mins under
my heatcap. When I went to wash it out, my hair felt stiff like if I did a protein treatment.
How did your last wash day go and what flat iron do you suggest I invest in?

6) Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt for 30 mins to absorb the excess water
7) Applied Aphogee Keratin & Green Tea Restructurizer, Herbal Essences Split-End
Protector and Organix Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum to my hair and detangled
really easy although I’m 5 weeks post
I was planning on going out tonight with one of my really good friends so I decided to full wrap my hair for a straight look.

Tresemme Heat Tamer spray before getting under the dryer so I immediately
sprayed all around the wrap and sat under for 40 mins to dry
I came out of the dryer and left my hair alone until I was ready to go out. I was really excited to wear my hair straight because I had not done so since my last relaxer as seen (here) I applied my favourite moisturize, Elasta QP Olive Oil& Mango Butter and sealed with Hot Six Oil all around the wrap. As I took down my wrap I noticed my head looked bigger because my hair was puffy from my new growth *argh.* I decided to do a mini twist to tame down the puffiness and it didn’t really help so I just left it and went out to have a great time with my friend. Flat ironing would have given me a sleek look however I don’t own a flat iron plus I didn’t have the time to do it anyway. This summer I plan to really invest in a great flat iron.

Your hair came out great and so straight! You're making me want to try a wet wrap for a straight look! You are the second person I have seen do this within the last few weeks.
ReplyDeleteThank you!!! Go ahead and try it, looking forward to seeing your results!
DeleteYour hair looks sooo nice! My last wash day turned out okay but you've made me recall the few times I wrapped my hair and air dried..I might just go back to that!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yup its an easy way to get your hair nice and straight. Go ahead and give it a try, i am definitely looking forward to seeing your results.
Deletewow, your wrap look so sleek. mine never look like that plus i get heavy breakage when i attempt to wet wrap.
ReplyDeletecurrently i sit under my dryer with my first rollerset since forever while reading your blog post.
i've already notice some great tips from your blog which i think i will try.
Awwww you are too sweet! I didn't do it soaking wet and combing my hair forward, set the pace for the wrap. I use my wide tooth comb first and followed with a smaller comb to smoothed it out.
DeleteLooking forward to seeing your roller set results.
well I think you just read how my recent wash day went. I wonder if I had protein overload. Not really sure, but a quick RE-shampoo and condition saved the day thankfully. Lol!
ReplyDeleteI just recently purchased the Sedu Revolution falt iron with 1 inch plates. I've only used it once since I'm in the L4L Protective Styling Challenge and can only use one hit pass but I will say that the ceramic plates are very smooth and the edges are rounded so there will be no snagging of your hair. I also like that it has low heat settings available (temp range from 170 to 450 degrees). The lowest setting on my last flat iron started at 300 which I thought was too high. I'm really glad I got it.
sorry about all my typos. lol!
DeleteThank you for your suggestion, will definitely look into The Sedu Revolution because i want the setting to have a range like this one
DeleteGreat results. I just came across your blog and I think it's great to find a Baradian! Especially when it comes to product recommendations and whether they can be sourced locally. Keep up the good work! I just have one question... Have you ever any problems with the elasta qp mango butter? I find whenever I use it, even just a little, I get a 'rancid' smell in my hair the next day.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love Elasta QP Olive Oil and Mango Butter and the smell disappears quickly when I use it. Sorry about the smell you are getting, hhj.
ReplyDeleteYou're wrap is wonderful and your hair so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMine isn't straight enough. I'm searching how to do.
