Protein Wash Day…

Midway during my stretch I like to do a strong protein treatment to strengthen my hair just before my new growth gets out of hand and the line of demarcation (where your new growth meets the relaxed hair). I like to do my strong protein treatment on squeaky clean hair so there's nothing stopping the treatment from penetrating.

[1]   Prepooed with Grapeseed oil mixed with a couple drops of peppermint oil on my scalp and
on the length of my hair for 30mins under my heat cap.
[2]   Shampooed with (ORS Creamy Aloe Shampoo), followed by (Elasta QP Creme
       Conditioning) Shampoo.
[3  Applied (Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment) on my hair and sat under my hooded
dryer for 15mins. My hair was rock solid and I didn't touch my hair to avoid breakage. As I
rinsed,  my hair felt stronger but alil stiff so I applied (Aphogee Balancing Moisturizer)
for 2 mins and rinsed. My hair felt normal again but not as soft and moisturized as I
       would like.
[4]   Followed up with (Aussie Moist Conditioner) for 45mins with heat. So far I love this
conditioner as a co-wash and leave in conditioner and was curious to see how it would
perform under heat. It did not penetrate my strands at all, so I’m sticking to what I know
it works best for my hair.
[5]   Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt for 40mins to absorb the excess water.
[6  Applied (Herbal Essences Split-End Protector), Aussie Moist Conditioner and Hot Six Oil
to my hair and detangled really easy although I’m 8weeks post.

[7]   Let my hair air dry for 2 hours, then applied (Jamaican Black Castor Oil) on my scalp and
moisturized my hair with Elasta QP Olive Oil & Mango Butter and sealed with Hot
       Six Oil.

8 weeks down 6 more weeks to go. So far my new growth has been super nice to me without any tangles or knots so far and I’m hoping this continues till relaxer day. Looks like I have ½ inch to ¾ inch in some areas as my crown area grows the fastest.

How many weeks post relaxer are you and how much new growth have you gained so far?

Be Inspired...

  2. I love how detailed your post is! It's great to see your process along with your progress! It will be time for my protein treatment with Aphogee 2 Step in about two weeks and I just hate the way it smells lol.

How are you liking the Aussie Moist Conditioner? I've been wanting to try it!

    1. Yup the smell is pretty awful but it works. I really like the Aussie Moist Conditioner, its so moisturizing but as a co-wash and leave in conditioner. Will do a review soon.

  3. Great wash day! Am 8 weeks post too and have 5 to go, but my new growth has also been super manageable so I might try stretching for a week or 2 longer!
I have recently purchase Elasta QP Creme Conditioning shampoo, and can't wait to try it out today!!
As for hard protein treatments, am so scared of what could happen with my hair so I stick to a medium protein treatment ORS Mayo.
Great wash day! As for my growth am think about 1/2 inch too, hoping for more growth!!!
