I’m just about 15weeks
post relaxer and I’m ending my stretch this week. I was planning for 16 weeks but I don’t want
the hassle of relaxing my hair over Easter holidays. I just want to relax and
spend some time with my family.
Relaxer prep hair products |
[2] Shampooed with ORS Creamy
Aloe.
[3] With my hair in 4 sections
applied Aphogee Two Step Protein Treatment and sat under my

1 hour and rinsed.
[5] Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt
for 1hour. My hair felt so soft and moisturized.
[6] My leave in conditioner’s
were Mane n Tail detangler sprayed lightly on my roots only,
Elasta QP Leave in H2, Aussie Moist Conditioner and sealed with Extra Virgin Coconut
Oil. Detangling wasn't tedious given I’m just about 15weeks post.
I sectioned my hair in the
4 original parts and worked each section at a time. I stretched about 1 inch in
each section of hair while using the blow dryer on cool to run up and down the
hair. After one half, my arms were
screaming but I kept pressing on, until I was finished. I couldn't believe how moisturized and shiny
my hair was without the need to add a moisturizer #winning

Half way finished & completely finished blow drying my hair on cool |
The following day apply
JBCO on my scalp. Applied Fruit of the Earth gel to my edges, softly brush my
edges, tie my hair with a scarf for 45mins and head out the door.
After blow drying on cool . My hair wasn't combed but fluffed in this direction |

Girrl I feel you and the frustrating "ends" lol but your hair looks really full and healthy and you have a lot of new growth!, I guess after you relax the ends may not need that much trimming, fingers crossed! :-) Can't wait to see your hair post relaxer!
ReplyDeleteAwww thanks Rachel, i hope so too
DeleteYour hair is looking thick and healthe, looking forward to seeing the relaxer results!
ReplyDeleteThank you Becca!
DeleteThe result at the end was definitely worth it, I really should try blow drying with cool air, it seems like it saves time as opposed to air drying.
ReplyDeleteAirdrying for me is extremely quick because i live in the tropics. Blow drying is very long and tedious but worth it.
DeleteYour hair looks great! I'm sure the ends will look less thin after the relaxer, looking forward to the update!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shala!
DeleteI love tension blow drying but I'm not gonna lie it takes FOREVER! I always think to myself "Can I count this as an arm workout?" LOL!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to self-relax or let your stylist do that too?
Thanks for sharing your #washdayexperience chica!

DeleteLook at that thickness! Your hair is lovely ... Just wish my wash days would get easier as I continue my stretch..
ReplyDeleteThanks Judith. How long do you plan to stretch for?
DeleteI plan to stretch for as long as 18weeks... Its actually my birthday goal. My birthday falls on the last week of April.
DeleteYour hair looks so full and shiny. I cant wait to see your relaxer results!

Thanks Hilda!
DeleteYour hair looks so full and beautiful Tomes x
ReplyDeleteThanks Lesley!
DeleteI am so excited to hear about your relaxer. I hope they don't chop your hair. Your hair is looking amazing and long by the way
ReplyDeleteThanks Pegster, I'll reveal in due time.
DeleteYour hair looks great and once you trim those ends off it's gonna be bomb!!! Nice and thick. I need to get back on the Cholestorol treatments, haven't used it since back in the days but I remember it's some good stuff. Is it considered a moisturizing deep conditioner or protein? I think it'll be great to add to a deep conditioning concoction.
ReplyDeleteFor sure Kays! Its a moisturizing Conditioner.
DeleteYour hair is looking thicker these days, Tomes!
ReplyDeleteThanks KIm!
DeleteUsing the moisture milk before shampooing is a good idea. I love the smell and the light soy protein I get. I love the thickness of your hair. Do you use castor oil on your scalp every other day?
ReplyDeleteI use the JBCO twice a week on my scalp.
