Wet n Wild | Vamp It Up (919B) Lipstick…

Rocking a vampy lipstick has been on my mind for a long time but I was scared it would look weird on me.  I figured before investing too heavily in my staple lipstick brand, I should try one from a drug store until I feel comfy.  I have a few Wet n Wild lipsticks so I jumped at the opportunity to try Vamp It Up 919B as my vampy lipstick.

They Claim
This 4-hour, longwearing lip color leaves a semi-matte cream finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn't cake, feather, or bleed.

This Wet n Wild Vamp It Up lipstick is a dark purple with a pink undertone on my skin and lips. In different light sources it actually looks closer to black. I have to agree that it glides on creamy with 2 to 3 strokes you have full coverage.  Please apply some chapstick or Vaseline prior to applying the lipstick because its semi-matte and it can become drying after a while.

Also make sure to remove any dead skin on your lips because this lipstick will expose it and make your lips look unattractive.  When I wore this lipstick I didn't eat or drink for hours so its difficult to say if it would last through food. What I would say is it stains your lips like crazy and I actually like lipsticks that do that. The packaging is pretty basic and because the lipstick doesn't retract all the way into the tube it smudges the cover of the lipstick which looks messy.

The first time I wore this lipstick I added Mac Violetta on top to reduce the darkness (as seen in my display pic at the top) but I’m really comfy with vampy lips now.  Vamp It Up can also be a dupe for Mac Cyber. So if you're on a budget grab this gorgeous lipstick and the unbeatable price of less than US$5.00.
Have you tried any of the Wet n’ Wild Lipsticks & What’s your favorite shade?

  1. I love the color against your skin tone. I need to try some vampy shades on my lips. I'm inspired!

  2. The color is beautiful. So far I have used Cherry Bomb by Wet and Wild and I love it. I haven't worn it lately because I rarely wear makeup because of my job (don't want to call too much attention to myself working in a men's prison lol!) but I may need to start wearing it on my days off.
