Co-washing & Protective Styling…

My new growth is crazy thick and I have loads of it even though I’m only 10weeks post. I haven’t cared for my hair like I used to, so I’m not sure what contributed to all of this growth. I’m planning on stretching for 16 weeks and not sure how I’m going to make it because single strands knots always try to take over my hair life at this point in my stretch.
Air-drying Without Product
[1]   Finger detangled my hair which took an hour
[2]   Hopped into the shower and let the water run down my hair
[3]   Co-washed with Aussie Moist Conditioner. Left it on for 2 mins and rinsed
[4]   Wrapped my hair in a t-shirt for 1hour to absorb the excess water
[5]   Applied my leave-in conditioners of Elasta QP H20, Aussie Moist Conditioner and sealed
with coconut oil. My hair felt so soft and mositurized
[6]   Finger detangled which wasn't as tedious since I was very thorough before I started my
wash day. I can’t remember when last I used a comb
The weather has been pretty cool recently, so airdrying was a no-no for me as I catch colds easily if my hair takes too long to dry
I sat under my hooded dryer and stretched my new growth for my roots to dry
didn't intend on touching my hair for the rest of the week so I opted to French braid/inside corn row my hair and put up my ends (not pictured)
French Braid on Relaxed Hair
I actually thought the braid was horrible because I didn't use as much effort as I usually do but it turned out decent. To maintain my hair in this style, I simply spray around my hair with my moisturizing mix and seal with coconut oil every other day. Once I unravel this braid my hair should be soft and manageable.

Did you wash your hair recently and want to share your deets with us, head over to Savingourstrands and Justgrowalready to join this link up.

  1. Your protective style looks good and neat. First and last time I tried it,it was a total failure.

  2. Your braid looks really nice. What are your style plans for the cooler months?

    1. I have no idea right now but I will be hiding my ends for sure. Any advise?

  3. I haven't tried an inside braid in like forever; yours looks great

  4. I love french braids. They make you look really chic.

  5. Your hair looks so thick and is so full of texture I love it! that braid is everything, and you did it without much effort - I'm jealous =)

  6. I cannot believe it's been 10 weeks already!! I guess eating right and exercising can contribute to the hair growth. Happy Sunday, love!!

    1. No exercising but eating healthy certainly helps!

  7. Cute cute cute! Nothing like a good co-wash and protective style to get your hair back into shape!
